Using the wrong pronouns for somebody can make people feel alienated and disrespected. Always ask if you don’t know somebodys pronouns, it shows respect. Some of examples of pronouns are he/him and she/her; some people prefer neutral pronouns like they/them. If addressing a group of people, use more inclusive language like “Hey everybody” instead of “hey guys/ladies”.
This list is not extensive of all the identities that exist in LGBTQ+ community but here are a few identities:
A person who identifies as a female and is attracted to other people who identify as female.
A person who is attracted to somebody that identifies as the same gender as them.
A person who is attracted to two or more genders.
A person who identifies with a gender that does not align with their biological sex.
An umbrella term for somebody that is not heterosexual (straight)
Somebody who is still figuring out their sexuality and/or gender.
Somebody that is attracted to the opposite gender to themselves.
Somebody who is attracted to people rather than a particular sex, gender or sexuality.
Somebody who does not experience sexual feelings.
