Event Volunteer Team Member

orkshire MESMAC’s Youth Activation Team hosts several events in Hull throughout the year to highlight the importance of sexual health and wellbeing to young people. We are looking for keen and confident young people who are interested in spreading the word about sexual health in new and innovative ways.

Event Volunteers support the work of the Yorkshire MESMAC Youth Activation Team. This is done in a number of ways, from packing condoms for events to participating in high profile activities that spotlight healthy sexual choices.

Role description/requirements:

The aim of the event volunteer team is to support Yorkshire Mesmac staff in local events.

• Participating in Yorkshire MESMAC events
• Condom distribution at events
• Condom packing in advance of events
• Helping to create a welcome and friendly atmosphere

Volunteers are not expected to provide a minimum availability commitment as events will happen at irregular intervals.

Those under the age of 16 will be checked for Gillick Competency against the Fraser Guidelines to prevent any safeguarding issues and ensure suitability for the post. The minimum age for event volunteers is 14. This role does not require a DBS.

Character requirements/description

This role does not require any past experience as relevant training will be provided! (Please see next section for details of what training you will receive)

You will have a named staff member for you to go to for support whenever you need it and to offer you guidance in fulfilling your role.

Yorkshire MESMAC Hull office and other sites around Hull.
